In May 2020, DB Netz AG and správa železnic published an initial joint invitation to tender for project management for the Dresden–Prague new-build line between Heidenau and Ústí nad Labem. This is now being revised and will be re-issued.
The pre-qualification process, in which engineering firms expressed their interest in participating in the invitation to tender, has already been completed. Following the pre-qualification process, however, the project partners DB Netz AG and správa železnic have now decided to cancel the invitation to tender and to restart the process.
The reason is that DB Netz AG intends to invite separate tenders for the work in the Heidenau area (the intersection of the new and existing lines). The project partners believe that a separate project management will be required to link the new-build line with the existing line.
DB Netz AG and správa železnic are now jointly tendering the project management for the all-tunnel option or partial tunnelling in the cross-border planning area and in the Ústí nad Labem area.
The new invitations to tender are expected to be published in August.
