Initial surveying work of the existing line between Heidenau and Pirna complete

As part of the preliminary design phase, surveying work was completed from the third quarter of 2019 until mid-2020 in the area around the future intersection in Heidenau (trackage between Pirna and Dresden-Reick stations).

The surveying work is an important basis for the future design, e.g. to determine the exact position of the tracks and produce track layout plans for the junction between the new and existing lines.

Extended surveying work is expected to start before the end of 2020, forming the basis for creating the Building Information Modelling (BIM) model. This model will be created to accompany the design work. The video explains what a BIM model looks like and what advantages it brings.
